About Us

The mission of The Black Mass Coalition is to strengthen the socio-economic wellbeing of Black & Indigenous communities while shifting the narrative and power to them in Massachusetts by leveraging our collective voices to demand accountability and action from the private sector, nonprofits, philanthropy, and state and local governments.

Our purpose is rooted in the urgent need to undo structural racism by directly challenging all systems of oppression rooted in white supremacy while advancing policy and culture change that realizes our vision of a new world marked by collective liberation.

We achieve our work by convening Black & Indigenous led organizations and individuals from across MA and cultivating a statewide platform for direct collective action, while intentionally seeking to abstain from further perpetuating systems of harm.

Who We Are

The targets we developed were the result of many conversations with organizations from across the state. Here are some of the members who have signed on in support of this initiative. This list will grow as more organizations gain the support of their leadership and/or membership.
